Background

Admas University College (AUC) commenced its operation in October 1998 G.C with the name “Admas Business Training Center.” The Center started delivering training services in certain tailor-made short-term programs. By undertaking deep assessment of further training needs, and preparing the required human and material resources, the center up- graded itself to a college level as of April 1999. Then, after fulfilling all the requirements set by the proclamation of the government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the college was upgraded to a university college level as of March 2007. Since its establishment, the University College has produced more than 25,000 graduates on various fields of study with Certificate, Diploma, TVET, and Degree programs in regular, extension and distance modes.
With the objective of expanding its quality services to the country, the University College opened six campuses of which three are in Addis Ababa while the rest are in Oromia (Bishoftu) and Amhara (Dessie) National Regional States and Hargesa College of Business, Economics and IT at Somali Land. Meskel and Misrak TVET Colleges are among the well-organized institutions rendering education and training services focusing on TVET programs. Besides, the College of Distance Education has opened more than 60 (sixty) centers throughout the country.
The University College has been strengthening its capacity of rendering quality training and education services. It also facilitated external quality audit by Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency (HERQA) and showed its commitment to its educational quality. The audit proved that the University College renders quality education and training services as the conclusion of HERQA’s audit team reads on page 7 as “The overall conclusion of the EQA team is that Admas University College as grown successfully in a planned and purposeful way and is firmly established as a major provider of higher education in Ethiopia.” Besides, subsequent to the institutional quality assessment conducted by HERQA, the University College earned the highest result and ranked top in quality education among the Private Higher Education Institutions in the country. AUC also participated in the "National Quality Award Competition" in 2012 and acquired "certificate of appreciation" for its improved institutional quality.
All the training and education programs and disciplines of the University College are fully accredited by the Ministry of Education, HERQA, and Regional TVET Agencies/Offices/Commissions.
